Artwork Statement
My ceramic sculptures are inspired by plein-air sketches and paintings. I believe in the importance of recognising our dependence on the world we inhabit, and my tree tiaras and crowns remind us of the sentinel power of these lifeforms. During the lockdowns, I began creating landscapes on hand-made tiles and continue to explore connection through large, hand-built stoneware vessels. Ceramics allows me to learn about the elemental forces that shape our planet and embrace the serendipity of the process. I'm thrilled to combine art, technology, and play. It feels like a full-circle journey from my career designing technology-mediated learning experiences.
